The Circus!

Last Friday we went to The Shrine Circus at Bengal Field. (Yes, an outside circus.) Etta did me a big favor and slept in the sling for the whole show. But we enjoyed the elephants, bears, miniature ponies, poodles, horses, acrobats and even the giant snake (that they hauled off the field in a duffel bag). Jonah enjoyed it so much that he wanted "more" as shown in his signing in the last picture!

Jekyll & Hyde

For the past four weeks Bob has been playing in the pit orchestra for the Lewiston Civic Theater's production of "Jekyll & Hyde". It took him away from home most evenings, but we survived. Mostly thanks to Matt and Christine and their gracious Christian hospitality!

Bob sharing his enthusiasm during intermission the evening Christine and I went. On a side note - that was the first time I was away from Etta for any significant amount of time. Almost four hours. Grandma Cathy did us a big favor and came to the house to babysit.

First Trip to Deary!

Today we made our first trip to Deary. For those of you who don't know, Deary is a small town North-East of Lewiston. But when we "go to Deary" we don't go to the town, we go to a cabin just South of town. It is a cabin that Bob's grandparents put up years ago. Today we went to kind of get our feet wet with getting things together for a baby and two dogs. We roasted some hotdogs and some marshmallows. (I would have made s'mores but I forgot the chocolate!) We only stayed for a couple of hours but are already looking forward to our next visit!

I'm not quite big enough for my own lawn chair.

There, that's better.

Setting up camp.

See Montana Grandma, mommy does make me wear a hat!

It's cool in the shade and daddy had to improvise.

Don't forget the puppies!

Happy Father's Day!

Here's to all the father's out there. Young, old, inexperienced, wise, there are so many men in our lives to be thankful for. I am thankful for Bob and the natural way that he has stepped into the role of father. He does so much for Etta and for me that it (almost) still amazes me. I knew that he would be a great dad, I just didn't realize how great I guess. I am thankful for my dad. I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with him. From farm work to fun work I always loved to be with him. I am thankful for my father-in-law. Even though he can be rough around the edges he is a big softy that will do just about anything to help us out. (Ie: Reroof a garage, snake a plugged drain...you get the idea!) I am also thankful for my brother, while not a dad yet (I am assuming!) he is great with kids and I can't wait to see him play with Etta as she grows.

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks that show the men in my life with their new little girl.

Daddy likes sharing with Etta. He shares his...

love of TV,

love of music,

love of walking (with the whole family, too!)

Grandpa Ed told Etta that it was a good thing that he has a big tummy so that she has a place to rest!

Even after staying out all night (almost) Uncle Erik decided he could get up and spend a few minutes snugging with his neice before she headed back to Idaho.

Grandpa Steve still looks so proud every time he sees baby Etta. We are blessed that we can just pop over so that she can get some Grandparent time!

Thanks to all you dads out there!

While daddy is at work...

Every day while Bob is at work Etta and I take a picture with the computer and send it to him. I thought that I would put a few on.

This is a yawn - not crying!

Some very serious thinking...

Last day of school

Etta and I went to Jenifer on the last day of school to visit. It seemed as if I had never left - or that I could go back at any time. But God has put me on a certain path and I am content to follow it. I have decided that it is ok to be sad (and cry a little) but to remember the good times and make sure that I visit and go to activities. I took my camera to get a lot of pictures, but of course I forgot until after school. So I just got the one. But it is a good one.

Thanks for all of the memories guys.
