Not a thumb sucker

Although she's tricky because it looks like she's sucking her thumb. Actually it's that pointer finger that seems so tasty.

5 months and new tricks...

...I mean milestones. Yesterday was Etta's 5th month annibirthery as I am calling them now. Over the past week she has really started sitting up better. Still pretty tippy - and if she tries to look around at all, over she goes - but really progressing. And lately she has started really rolling side-to-side, almost going over, but that stinkin' arm keeps getting in the way.

On Saturday morning she made it all the way over (back to tummy) when both Bob and I were watching. I left during her afternoon nap to run a couple of errands. When Bob called me to touch base he let me know that she was rolling like a champ! I'm with her all the time...he's with her for 45-minutes of awake time...and he gets the first real rolls? Really? Are you kidding me? But it's okay. I'm sure that I will get my fair share of rolling and will get tired of it soon enough.

*Note - no pictures of rolling (of course) and I'm having problems getting my camcorder to upload to my computer.*

Dear Aunt Molly,

Thanks for the new clothes. I have already worn two pair of pants, the monkey sleeper and the jacket. It is so great that I have a wonderful, generous aunt like you. Can't wait to see you when you get home!

Love,
Etta

I'm the cutest girl in the hood!

Footie jammies are my favorite.

Play group

Here are most of the kids from the play group that we go to. Etta is the youngest - and usually the only girl! I kind of like it that way. She is going to be tough. And the last two weeks she has taken this opportunity to find her voice and screech and talk. Maybe she is going to be bossy. Now, who would she have gotten that from?

[Make sure to check out the Jorgan's Ohana blog to see Baby Etta on her very first fair ride!]

Watch out Anne Geddes!

So I'm not a great photographer, but when you've got such a great model it's really not hard to get good pictures! Etta always enjoys taking a bath. One day I wondered how she would respond to having some toys in the tub with her. She really didn't care that they were all in with her, but she particularly enjoyed one!

Watch dogs

One of our favorite things about our dogs is that they like to look out our front window and watch the world go by.

Guess who is learning by example?

C'mon, let's look!

What's out there?

Did you see that?

I think I see a squirrel.

Mom, can we go outside?

Bumbo - the adventure continues

[I learned a lesson about blogging yesterday. No matter how carefuly I plan I still mess it up. I had such a great idea for the family, football, farm days postings. And then they ended up all out of order. Hope that you could still follow okay.]

On to the adventure...

Here are various poses from our Labor Day journey.

Pre-bedtime sit in Erik's crazy jammies

Again, big dinosaur little girl. It won't be too long and she will be crawling all over it!

First college campus visit. "Maybe I can be a Cat someday..."

"Lean toward the sun *little* flower" - Thanks Montana Grandma! It made it home in one piece.
