Birthday Visit

Mom and Dad were able to visit last weekend for a belated party for Mae. My mom got all the good pics for the long weekend, but I did get this parting shot. With Bob & Etta at school Mae got to have the photo op all to herself!

Kramer at the Fair

Last weekend Bob & Etta entered Steve's chicken, Kramer, in the Nez Perce County Fair. She won a blue ribbon!!
Loaded in the car to head to the fair.

Getting settled in to new digs. Not a happy thing for a free range chicken.
Apparently the first thing Kramer did when she got back to "the farm" was make a beeline for the hen house and lay the egg that had been backed up for 3 days.

Sunflowers ~ Round 2

So glad that Bob decided to take some more pictures of the sunflowers. We had a pretty strong wind here about a week and a half ago an all of the big ones are bent over now.

Round Up Parade 2012

We took in the Round Up Parade again this year. (Last Saturday...) Grandma Cathy & Grandpa Steve joined us for the festivities. They have moved the parade to 9:59 a.m. instead of 12:59 p.m. MUCH nicer than the 100+ degrees that we had while I was teaching. And it allows us naps after lunch.
Mae hadn't gone to sleep until after 10:00 the night before so she was pretty relaxed the enter time. We were home by noon and she slept until 4:00!
Nice float.
Shriners and their mini cars.
Life Flight float. We know all three people in there. (That is Alane Rimmelspacher Chenault mom.)
LHS Marching Band. Jackie and Rachel are the center two in the front row. Now they have their purple on!
Green truck - this one is for Mae.
Nemos!!
Family Promise float.
Civic Theatre "9-5 The Musical" float. Bob is playing in the pit (but didn't have to participate in the parade) and mom, Cathy & I are going next Sunday!
Democratic Fire Truck - Sweet Dude.
Not exactly sure, but it was a decorated float.
We have hit most of the parades over the last 12 (yikes!!) years. I think I've only missed one. Here are a few highlights from since we've had kids. Practice 2011. Parade 2010. (Mae was only about a week old! I had a picture with her, don't know where it went...) 2009 we were riding bikes on the trail. It's the only parade I've missed since 2001. And 2008. My first year not in the parade. It is not a parade dedicated post, but the 2nd & 3rd pics were taken while waiting for the parade to start.

Pre Round Up Parade

LOVE that the LHS band marches by our house while warming up for the Round Up Parade. The kids loved it too!
Jackie and Rachel are in the front row. NOT dressed in purple...

Sick Girl

Mae was up last night from about 2:30-4:30 between throwing up, getting cleaned up and being relaxed enough to go back to sleep. Sick day = laying on the couch with blankets and books. Thankfully I was able to get someone to come watch her while I went for band at Beacon. Long nap will hopefully help her out.

Jammin' with Dad

After taking the winter "off" Etta has again been playing her trumpet. She is very excited about it & likes to show me all the new sounds she can make.

Mae on the other hand...she likes to be in on the action, but we think she will do either woodwinds or choir. Not much buzz going on there.

Backyard Campout!

Saturday night we went camping! In our backyard. I think this is my kind of camping right now!
Fire pit, picnic table and tent. Jackie joined us. Rachel was sick. :(
They were laughing and laughing. We have no idea what was so funny.

Bob was a hotdog cooker extraordinaire.

Mae Turns Two!

We had another party at Hell's Gate State Park. I love that place and it works really well for our "type" of birthday party. We had two families join us as well as The Girls. A good amount. Enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs, the playground and swimming.
Gray, Ronan and Tyler

Jackie and Rachel

Waiting.....patiently....

Ready for cake!

It was breezy and I couldn't keep the candles lit. At least she's just two and can't count yet...

And Mae graduated into a Big Girl Bed.

First jump into The Big Bed.

Checking out the digs.

Two big girls, two big beds.

She's been out...4 times?...5? We'll see how it goes.
