Smiles and Zzzzzzz's

I think that this is the first official pregnancy photo of me, and of Bob and I together for sure. I mean, I have been taking my belly shots for awhile, but then realized that I don't have any plain old pictures of what I am looking like. This was taken by our friend Christine after choir practice at the church on Wednesday. We are dressed up because we had our jazz night concert earlier in the evening and then also went to dog obedience class. When it rains it pours I guess. But I think that we are both looking pretty good - and not as tired as we are both feeling. I know, I know...we are going to be tired for the next twenty years...



This photo is from some lounge time that we had this weekend. The little dogs have been particularly fond of being with mommy lately. Don't know if it is my extra body heat or what. But letting sleeping dogs lie is ok, it's when they wake up and decide to play that they have to go with Bob to work off some of that extra energy.

A Couple of Great Views

If any of you have been following the weather in Northern Idaho/Eastern Washington, you will understand why we left Lewiston on Wednesday afternoon to drive to Coeur d'Alene so that we could make our Thursday morning ultrasound appointment. The weather cooperated and driving conditions were fine going up. We hit great weather on Thursday and decided it would be the perfect day to capture the view from the skywalk between the parking garage and the doctor's office. This is looking North across the Interstate toward Spokane.



The other great view we got to witness was baby Etta. She is currently breech and folded completely in half. Even though we were very excited to get to see another 3D view of her face she was blissfully unconcerned and spent the whole appointment playing with her toes right in front of her face. So no spectacular pictures to post at this time. The terrific news is that she is progressing right on track. So well in fact that next month will probably be the last appointment in Spokane. Unless something happens (which we are praying DOESN'T) then we will be able to do the rest of the appointments and doctoring here in Lewiston. It is wonderful to get to see her on a regular basis, but in less than three months we will get to see her all the time, so I think that we can be patient - for a bit...

First Public Scholarly Appearance

In January we traveled to Pocatello, ID to go to the IMEA All-State Music Conference. Bob presented a poster at a research session. It covered his thesis topic. It was very cool to see his work with other music professionals who are also doing indepth research. He was asked to write an article for the Montana music teacher journal. Stepping up to getting published!

23ish Weeks

Well, the yoga pants still fit ok. The shirt - not so much. But the changes are really becoming obvious now. I am going to do my best to get a picture every Sunday for the next 16 weeks. (Only 16?! Scary!) So if you are interested, keep checking. She has been very active for the last three days. Very reassuring for me.

Dad took us for a drive and we saw this really neat old rock house. Amazing how well - and how long - things can last out on the lone prairie.


Just an update but with no pictures...We had another OB appointment in Spokane yesterday. Things are looking great. Etta's growth is right on track. Unfortunately she was sleeping and all curled up. Not very many good pictures. But since we are going to be going in at least every four weeks I'm sure that there will plenty of pictures to show off later.

What's growin'?

Yesterday we went up to Spokane for our third ultrasound. 18 weeks is a little early, but late enough that we could find out that we are having a girl! There go all the boys' names out the window and kind of back to the drawing board. But we have a few on the table and will let everyone know what we decide. The first picture is the 3D or 4D view of the face. (Upside down but there.) You can almost see a little smile there. The second is the hands with all five fingers on each. The third the general profile. Those of you familiar with ultrasounds will probably be able to tell what is what. Those of you who don't...well, join the club. This is a whole new world for us!
